BSOs are big shiny objects. Do they hurt your personalsuccess? They can be get rich quick schemes that you by off the internet. Theseare the ones that promise to make you rich in 42 seconds and 12 mouse clicks.Then all you have to do is set on the beach and collect your ClickBank checks.Only spend $37.96 for a life time of freedom. In my opinion if I could do thisI would not sell it for $37.96 but rather would share it with my friends andcollect the cash. Who need the 37 buck sale if he is racking in hundreds ofdollars doing nothing.

A big shiny object can be many things. If it diverts yourfocus and depletes your resource then it is a BSO. The real danger from BigShiny Objects is that they divert you from your plan. Did I use the four letterwork “plan”. If you don’t have a written plan then everything is a big shinyobject. To achieve personal success you must have a plan.

A plan is the steps that are necessary to reach your goal.In my opinion a plan includes the goal, date it will be achieved, and each individualstep to get there including the date that the step will be completed. He states that to develop a $5 aday project takes about 40 hours. That is a conservative figure and some effortis required to keep these projects running. No exactly a get rich quick thingbut it has worked for many people. The greatest enemy of these kind of projectsare BSOs.
